I looked at information about ellipticals for 2 years, and was forced to conclude that you get what you pay for. I wanted something I could actually use for exercise, did not care much about specialty things like an IPOD dock, or fancy computer simulations, etc. I especially wanted something that did more than keep me walking (or maybe running, if I ever got enough conditioning!) Yowza ellipticals fit the bills, save for the cost. This was is an older (all of about 1 year older) model, without a lot of trimmings, and I got it for over 50% off the regular price.The assembly was straightforward, and relatively easy - the really hard part was to get the main body downstairs ( I slide it on the box cardboard and it actually went down without any help at all!) The second hard part was to attach the front section to the back section - and it was hard only because one person was doing it. The diagrams and parts were explicit and clear, nothing was missing. I went online to Yowza Fitness for a chat over a question and got prompt answer. The machine runs silently, and yes, the moving arms do actually provider core conditioning, and are sort of fun. I have had it about 3 weeks, and am still slowly working up into being able to use it for longer periods - I started out slowly to avoid so much stiffness and exhausting that I simply stopped using it. It is a bit difficult to get the motion started, but once you get it going, it moves steadily with even resistance and good balance. I have not yet even turned on the computer, so I can't comment on it yet.If I could have had one change, it would have been with adjustable pedals - they are big and plenty spacious, but I find if I don't keep an eye on my feet, they will start sliding towards the edge. I might also want to be able to adjust the tilt, but no can do on this model, and no need for it at this time.One of my deep concerns (beside being able to actually use the thing from the beginning) was my cats. I have three and they are all extemely inquisitive. I had nightmares, based on reports I read, that they could get caught up and injured, coming to examine the exciting wheel movement many of the less expensive elliptical use. Crushed paws, crushed kitty faces, you name it, haunted me and was part of the reason I hesitated so long to get one. This Yowza has no wheels that are exposed and the cats are reasonable safe, since they do not try to get under the pedal levers when they are moving. The flywheel is enclosed, so no problems with that, either.Just to fill out the final personal info, I am a very out of condition 60+ year lady in pretty good health, so I needed to be sure I could get the pedals to move without leading to so much pain, stiffness and exhausting that I stopped having an interest in using the Yowza and turned it into a VERY expensive clothes hanger. I want to shape up, and I think that this will be a significant helper on my way and a big part of my overall exercise regimen as I improve. I am glad I got it.
