Recently purchased the Spirit EL 5 through Amazon.comOver all I am pleased with the commercial quality of the product.After some research,I discovered,Dyaco manufactures and distributes this equipment through Espirit and Sole. Sole is exclusively sold through Dick's sporting goods.You can save a litte money buying on line in addtion to no taxes and/or no shipping and set up fees.The EL 5 is a 2008 version, and comparisons between Sole and Espirit equipment need to be considered by year model. Newer 2009 models come with a cooling fan built in to the display console, along with incline capabilities. 2009 Models differ by Manaul incline or auto control incline.The assembly manual shipped with equipment lacks illustrations, but did not find so complicated and should take under 2.5 hours conservatively. ( from unboxing to finish set up#The assembly packaging is missing one screw, but not a big deal to find another screw at your nearest hardware store. Also preffered using my own tools vs. tools shipped with packaging for assembly.The EL 5 does come with two front rollers and moves around like a wheel barrel. Not difficult to move around on a hard surface, but unrealistic to move around frequently. As this unit is heavy, More suited to a permanent location for my needs.The Espirit EL 5 is quiet and smooth, and should provide the durability I was looking to get out this unit. This unit would compare easily with units used in fitness centers.

Like the gym ellipticals!

Before purchasing this product I researched for months. I am a bit of an "elliptical snob" as I used the ones in gyms for years and it seemed that any others were nowhere close to the quality or the workout. I knew I could not buy one without trying it myself, so after much research I learned that this machine is for all intents and purposes the same machine (minus a few minor bells and whistles) as the Sole machines which are sold at Dick's. After trying the machine along with all the others, I was amazed at how smooth the glide was and the overall quality of the product. There was no need to research or try any others. This was definitely the best elliptical outside of the gym I'd ever tried.The best website that I found for researching ellipticals was [...]. Very informative and seemingly unbiased. If you look also on Consumer Reports it rated the Sole as its #1 "Best Buy" which again, the Sole is virtually the same as the Spirit, made by the same manufacturer, etc., just is less expensive.After having the elliptical a few months I am absolutely confident that we made an excellent choice. My husband and I both use it almost daily and have been more than pleased. It is so quiet I can't even tell if my husband is using it. It is amazing how I (about 5'6") and my husband (6'2") can both use the machine with no problems. I used to even have a problem with my feet falling asleep on other machines but not with this machine.Purchasing through Amazon was also a great choice. By far the cheapest we found and it was not a problem with delivery as we just picked it up from UPS directly. Also great was that the elliptical came with the flywheel and pedals pre-assembled so it made assembly a breeze (my father helped put it together and after having just assembled his new elliptical, an Epic, a few months prior wished he'd have waited and bought this one... he had to assemble his flywheel even... plus he said the quality was much better and we paid about the same price).Overall, a VERY smart choice and one of the best purchases I've made!

First time I've purchased something like this from Amazon. Overalla good experience. It was delivered to a local freight depotwho called me to pick it up there. I had expectedit to be delivered to the house but it worked out ok as it fit ina pickup truck. Weighs 200+ lbs. Assistance recommended tomove if alone. It was well packed and the assembly directions were easy tofollow although I did used my own tools to do the setup. Less than a hour total to complete assembly withtwo people. Machine is heavy and not easy to move around on carpet, it is setupin a home gym setting. The unit works very welland we are happy with it's performance to date. Good deal, nice machine, would do again.
