The PhysioStep RXT with MDX Swivel Seat - Recumbent Elliptical Cross Trainer is the latest innovation in exercise technology - provides an easy & effective low-impact total body cardio workout.  The PhysioStep combines a stable & stress free recumbent sitting position, with the smooth and natural feeling of an elliptical.  Low clearance walk-through design and ergo-grip loop handles. The fully adjustable arms, seat, and seat back accommodate a wide range of users from 5 Feet 1 Inch to 6 Feet 4 Inch.  The PhysioStep is ideal for Active Aging Facilities, Fitness Centers, Hospitals, and home use. With the MDX Option the large, oversize swivel seat adjusts easily and rotates 90 degrees making the PhysioStep accessible for people with low mobility. The PhysioStep features AC Power to assist de-conditioned users and an easy-to-read, oversized display panel that tracks such details as Speed, Time, Distance, Pulse, RPM, Watts, Calories and Heart Rate. The unit has 16 levels as well as 12 built-in programs to guide you through your workout.  Wireless heart rate receiver, "Polar" compatible.  Supports up to 350 lbs. Caution! Handlebars

I put this machine in my gym to offer variety in my clients' workout options. I love the swivel seat as it helps my physically limited individuals' ease of mounting. The handlebars are not calibrated to the resistance setting on the pedals like a NuStep; the bars move at the speed of pedal movement. If speed is goal of client, it is difficult to hold on to the handlebars as they are moving too fast and without resistance. I feel like I'm holding on for dear life! They are in the way when seat is swiveled. BUT most important is safety. Due to liability concerns, when I educate a client about using this machine, I stress that they CANNOT lean or reach for something outside the boundaries of the handles. The injury could be serious. Ofttimes, I remove the handles entirely and eliminate the risk. Believe it or not, I love the workout it provides for the legs. Too bad the upper body misses out.
