Worst elliptical ever

If you want to save money , buy a gym membership and work out there,or invest in a Precor elliptical . I bought the Proform 14. 0 RE in January , and it hasn't been working properly since then . The moment they put it together it was making noise , and was not running smoothly, plus the fan was not working . Customer service sucks, you have to wait for the technician to come out to your house for 2 weeks , so buy the time you figure out that you bought a lemon , the 30 day warranty period expired- until you could get your money back . For another year there is warranty on it , but with the 2 weeks wait for the technician it will not be enough to get everything fixed on it , and of course they don't replace the whole machine, just parts of it .I will never buy anything from Proform and you shouldn't either.

Great equipment but putting it together was a task!!

I priced this Proform elliptical on the Proform site before I purchased it. I have used this brand of elliptical before in the gym and really liked the fact that it is fully automatic and has a longer stride. Once I put it together everything was wonderful but the process was certainly not easy. Following the directions was easy enough but I ran into problems when trying to install the cross bar for the handles...no matter how much I greased that bar it would not slide easily into the opening. A hammer, mallet, rethreader, and a whle lot of cussing later, and I finally got the cros bar in. The rest of the set-up was smooth as pie and the elliptical works like a charm.

Great for long legs

Works great for long legs for the price. Smooth ride, nice big peddles for my feet. I have a 36" inseam and the stride works for me. HINT for long legs: don't install the cup holder bc it still bumps the knees, but after I removed it, perfect stride. I like the manual programs, where I can set a time goal, calorie goal, or heart rate goal but it has lots of other programs too. Plus you can subscribe to ifit programs. I get a good workout at low resistance and it also has an incline which kicks my butt. You can turn off all the sound on the console for those early morning workouts. The console also holds my Kindle for easy viewing during workouts. I always use headphones ( cause of those early mornings) so I can't say if the machine is quiet enough to watch a large tv, but it seems pretty quiet to me. My boyfriend is a gym addict and even he was impressed with this elliptical for power, size, and price. The fold up feature is nice since the machine is long. It is heavy though so build it where you want it. Easy to put together but need a second person for a couple parts. And use a mallet on the main rod or you will be sorry.
