The Stamina Air 1725 Cross Trainer Elliptical gives you air resistance and electronically controlled tension for a workout that targets cardiovascular fitness and shapes and tones legs, hips, glutes, and abs. Elliptical trainer workouts burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Since your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina Air 1725 Cross Trainer gives a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In fact, whereas jogging, jumping rope, aerobics classes, and exercising on a treadmill all require your body to absorb the force of impact, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Because ellipticals are so low impact and easy on the joints, they are also a good choice for older people or for individuals who have old injuries. Up and down buttons adjust the resistance to control the intensity of your workout. The monitor's built-in fingertip pulse sensor tracks your heart rate so you work out within your target heart rate zone. Elliptical trainers mimic the natural path of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower body workout while the dual action arms work your upper body and let you increase or decrease intensity. Work your arms harder to tone and to burn more calories. The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride to tone thighs and glutes.

Update - broken after 2 months... :(

I agonized long and hard over which elliptical to buy. I did not have much money to spend and I was afraid I'd really be compromising. This elliptical was simple to assemble by myself and I really like using it. It isn't perfect and shifts a bit on one side, but this could easily be construction-error on my part. Even so, the workout is great and I'm very happy! I've been using it for about a month and so far no complaints. I don't expect it to hold up for more than a year or so of heavy use, but hopefully I'll be surprised!UPDATE: Nope - it did not hold up. Similar to other reviewers, I have had problems on the left side. The arm will not stay attached causing the entire left side to fall apart during use. No amount of fiddling can fix it. Now I'm hoping the manufacturer's warranty is decent. I was only able to use it for 60 days - at $2/day it turned out to be an awful, abysmal deal in the end.

THIS IS MY SECOND ONE THAT AMAZON HAS SENT ME. EVERYTIME I GET ON THE LEFT PEDAL UNSCREWS CAUSING ME TO FALL OFF OF THE MACHINE. I GOOGLED THIS PRODUCT AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MACHINE. I WISH I WOULD HAVE INVESTIGATED THIS PRODUCT BEFORE I WASTED MY MONEY. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ELLIPTICAL TO ANYONE. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!

This machine broke a month after I got it. I would not recomend it unless you want to try to fix it yourself with the replacement parts.
